I live with my grandmother and I have been trying to persuade her to modernise her living room. But she is so stuck in her ways, I really thought I would be living in a 1930s style front room for ever. I knew I had to persuade her somehow. So I started looking for catalogues that would show how different we could make the living room. I brought back lots of catalogues and brochures, but to no avail; my grandmother simply didn’t like anything I showed her.

That was, until I gave her a blinds brochure. In this brochure were all manner of domestic blinds, but the ones that really caught my grandmother’s eye were the vertical blinds. After several weeks of thinking it over, she eventually agreed to get some installed. It was all done very quickly and my gran was delighted with the results. The living room was completely transformed – and now we both spend a lot more time in it.
